Individual Therapy

A Private Paying client pays the full cost of their therapy session and is not entitled to any rebates under Medicare. However, your Private Health care Fund may cover a portion of your Psychology service. You will need to contact your Health Fund provider to see if this is available to you.

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist if you are a private paying client. To book an appointment,  send us a message via the contact page and someone will be in contact with you to organise a suitable time.

Under the current Medicare rebate scheme, clients are currently eligible to receive a rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year of psychological therapy. The number of sessions you are eligible for is determined by your referring practitioner.

Clients wishing to utilise the Medicare rebate scheme will need to have a current Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and have a written referral from a GP or Psychiatrist.

Once Sarah K Psychology has received a copy of your referral and MHCP via fax or email, someone will be in contact with you to book a suitable appointment time.

Please note that if you have seen a Psychologist at another practice in the same calendar year, these sessions will count towards your yearly limit through Medicare.

Bulk Billing is offered to those with a Mental Health care Plan who hold an eligible Concession or Health Care Card. Please see below for concession rates without a MHCP.

At Sarah K Psychology we are happy to work with you, your support workers, case managers, support co-ordinators or plan managers to ensure you are easily able to access our service.
